Healthy Spaghetti Bolognese

This healthy Spaghetti Bolognese is easy to prepare and tastes delicious.




  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add the onion and saute over a medium heat for 5 minutes until lightly golden.
  2. Add the mince and garlic and turn up the heat, cook until all the water has evaporated. This is key to ensure maximum flavour so be patient
  3. Add the wine and when that has evaporated, add the passata, bay leaf and thyme. Season with salt and pepper. Lower the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  4. Add the lemon and simmer for a further 10 minutes.


Serve with spaghetti and a mixed salad.

Freezes well so a perfect recipe for batch cooking.
