Healthy Homemade Beef Burgers which are perfect for the BBQ!
Prepare 10 minutes, plus 1-hour chilling
Cook 15 to 20 minutes
400g minced beef (5% fat)
1 red onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 egg yolk
4 burger buns, lightly toasted
4 tomatoes, sliced
200g lettuce leaves
4 tbsp tomato ketchup
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl using your hands. Divide into 4 equal portions, roll into a ball then flatten into a burger shape.
Place the burgers in a fridge and chill for 1 hour before cooking.
Heat a griddle pan to a medium heat, do not add any oil. Take the burgers straight out of the fridge (this helps the meat to bind and stay moist) and cook for 5-8 minutes on each side, turning carefully using a fish slice.
Serve in a lightly toasted bun and toppings of your choice including lettuce, sliced tomato, sliced gherkin and tomato ketchup.
